SO we all wash our face with a cleanser, right? Ideally you will do this morning and night….
At night, to remove all the pollution from the environment that has clung to our face, to remove all the makeup we quickly slapped on our face in the morning to hide those baggy eyes and to mask how terrible our skin is and not forgetting all the oil (sebum) our skin creates naturally to keep our skin from drying out, all working its way into our pores hoping to cause us yet another break out.
In the morning we should cleanse again, removing the dust, dirt and oils we have collected over night from our pillow cases and to prepare it for you another day makeup masking and environmental dirt.
But what is double cleansing? Who actually has time to do it twice? My mornings consist of rounding up my smelly boys, making sure they have eaten their breakfast, have clean pants on and brushed their teeth whilst trying to quickly wash my face and look like I am at least half ready to face the day…. BUT I can honestly say that after a week of double cleansing (it actually takes less time than you think!) my skin feels much cleaner, like I have actually cleaned my skin rather than just remove the layers of rubbish that has sat on my face all day.
So double cleansing is a quick wash with your face wash or cleanser to remove the lovely layers of much we catch all day, then a longer wash / cleanse a second time which actually cleans your skin now you have removed the nasties! Giving your face a really good wash, in all the nooks and crannies, around your nose, under your chin, around your ears but not forgetting the bigger areas. I assure you if you do this day and night, every night you will begin to notice how your skin feels, CLEAN!!!
What cleanser? Which is right for me? Am I using the right one? With so many products out there, branded big names, store branded, different skin types, I understand that this can be a complete mine field! My advise would be to book for a facial, it gives us the opportunity to look at your skin under a lamp and magnifying glass, to examine your face and advise your skin type. You may already know your skin type and be using a product that your are perfectly happy with, in which case, if its not broken, don’t fix it! (you can still book for a nice relaxing pamper with us though!) But if you are unsure, book for a facial, brink in the products you are currently using and we can advise you and help you get a plan, a better skin plan.
And as you have taken the time to read to the end of this post – I hope you found it informative! Here is a discount code for £15 off your facial booked in February. Book online here and use code ‘DoubleCleanse’ in the notes section and we will discount £15 from the total on the day.
